SMS Mevac GmbH has concluded a technology licensing agreement for mechanical vacuum pump stands with ALD Vacuum Technologies AG. Within the framework of this agreement ALD will now withdraw from the complete field of vacuum tank degassing plants (VD, VD-OB and VOD plants) and leave this to SMS Mevac GmbH, including the technology of the mechanical pump sets applicable to these processes. ALD is a market leader in vacuum steel degassing by the use of mechanical pumps.

The advantage of mechanical vacuum pump stands in steel degassing predominantly lies in the low operating costs.
