In the eighties Swedish and Japanese companies had no other choice than to dedust the sucked-off exhaust gas, to avoid any contamination of the condenser cooling water in their VD/VOD or VD-OB. After these pioneers many other companies followed SMS Mevac's recommendation to filter the process dust in dry stage rather than to remove it from the condenser cooling water circuit.
