Chemical Heating stations (CHS) have been developed by Nippon Steel Corp. and others to overcome the superheating problems of melt prior tapping. SMS Mevac has chemical heating stations for many years. More than 20 units have been successfully designed and put into operation so far or under license execution by SMS Mevac.
